This book being pitched similar to Black Swan is very spot on. While many aspects were definitely different it had the feel of Black Swan for sure. It was dark and twisty in parts, while you go to see the full hardcore ballerina life style. It is full of drama, mystery, heartbreak, and how ambition can cause things to go completely wrong.

I was really surprised at how much I ended up enjoying this book, because this isn’t my typical kind of read, but I’m really glad that I gave it a try. While it wasn’t necessarily fast paced, there was always so much going on and so many questions to be answered that it kept me completely captivated. I really like how there were three points of view given from three of the girls. It really helped show each one individually, who they really were, and who they tried to be.

The only issue I really had with this one was the ending, it was very open ended in my opinion. I felt there were quite a few questions left unanswered and that there needed to be more closure for the main characters. I was really hoping I would go on Goodreads and see that there is a sequel in the works, but no such luck.

UPDATE: I was told that this book will have a sequel! So this makes me really happy to get some resolve on these characters!

Overall, I ended up at 4 angelic/evil emojis for this one!

I found this one enjoyable for the most part, but it isn’t one that I just love.

Audrey is a very interesting main character and her journey was really intriguing, I just had issues with how she got there and some things that were lacking along the way. I felt that she became brave basically because of Linus. I’m okay when characters go on growth journeys and have help along the way but this just felt to me like it was ultimately because of Linus and not much at all on her own.

Maybe that’s just me.

I was also disappointed in the ending and a lot of questions left unanswered. Audrey’s whole issue that caused her breakdown centered around a circumstance THAT WE ARE NEVER TOLD WHAT IT IS, which really drives me bonkers. When a book continuously brings up some major thing PLEASE enlighten me on what it is, especially when it apparently had such a crucial impact. Anyways, I think a lot of people will probably enjoy this just fine. I didn’t dislike it, I was just disappointed in it. I was hoping for a lot more.

Giving it 3 shaded emojis!

WHOA! This book was super twisted, dark, and extremely well written. I really liked that there were points of view from each of the main characters, and they all felt extremely real. I liked how the story built up by giving bits and pieces of each of the characters back stories woven within each of the present scenes. It really kept me having that “on the edge of my seat” feeling and made it extremely hard to put this book down.

There were several twists that I didn’t see coming. The ending especially was something I wouldn’t have pegged happening at all. Each character’s ending felt true to the story, it just wasn’t what I expected, but in a good way. I really wish there had been an epilogue though for a few years later to see if the choices each character ended up making had an impact on their future lives and how they turned out.

If you are a fan of twisted stories I definitely recommend picking this one up.

Giving this one 4 dark and twisted emojis!

The only one I have plans to read here is Finding Audrey but I have to say I am still excited about it. I feel like it might skew my expectations but it sounds like Audrey might be a lot like Ruby Oliver from the E. Lockhart series so I’m pretty excited.
