Entangled Teen has acquired the rights to Victoria Scott's next young adult novel, VIOLET GRENADE, in which a teen runaway with dissociative identity disorder is bullied to the point of explosion inside a home for girls.

Can you tell us a little bit about Violet Grenade?
Violet Grenade is the story of a seventeen-year-old runaway named Domino Ray. She has demons in her past, and a monster in her mind. It’s a dark contemporary that feels fantastical, and includes an unlikely hero, manipulation, speeding trains, pink wigs, and twisted love.

What was the writing process like? How was it similar or different from your other novels?

This is the first novel I’ve written that I wrote entirely for myself. So taking sharp turns, and going dark places, just to amuse myself was liberating! It’s an odd little book, and it’ll take an odd reader to enjoy it. But I’m betting there are plenty of you out there.

Where did you get the idea for Violet Grenade? What inspired you to write the story?

The story started with the voice inside Domino’s mind—her second personality. One could say he got inside my head too. He’s hard to ignore.

If you had to pick one song to represent Violet Grenade, what would it be and why?

You know, I’m not sure. But I’ve already had a dozen readers send me Grenade by Bruno Mars. Ha!

What are you most excited for the readers to see once we finally get our hands on Violet Grenade?

Definitely the slow-growing relationship between Domino and Cain. They are both incredibly broken, but they fill each other’s missing pieces. I adore them.

Could you share a little teaser from the novel?

Guess what? I created a Pinterest page specifically for the book, so that’ll give you sneak peak!
