I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Taylor's always felt pressure to be perfect. That's what happens when you are a senator's daughter. So when she's kicked out of private school for covering for her boyfriend's not-so-legal behavior, she is devastated.Things go from bad to worse as she joins what used to be her rival soccer team at Hundred Oaks High. The only person who seems to understand all that she's going through is her older brother's best friend, Ezra. But Ezra has secrets of his own. Will Taylor repeat past mistakes, or can she score a fresh start?

I’m not usually a huge fan of lighter contemporaries, I like mine dark and twisty, so this one was a little out of my comfort zone. I’ve heard SO many good things about Defending Taylor, and about the author’s previous books, I decided to give it a try, and I’m so glad I did. Defending Taylor mainly focuses on Taylor’s self-growth and I absolutely LOVE this. There is some juicy romance (which I think is handled more upper YA) that I really enjoyed, but it didn’t overshadow the book and the main purpose of seeing Taylor figure out who she is and what she wants to do with her life. I also really enjoyed that Taylor’s family is super front and center and a main focus in this book.

It is one I really recommend, and I think once you pick it up, you won’t be able to put it down. I personally want to go buy all the author’s previous work now!

I’ve read Breathe, Annie, Breathe and fell in love with this author’s voice. I want to read more of her books. Have you read this one yet?

I’ve heard Breathe, Annie, Breathe is FANTASTIC!! I actually have that one downloaded and will definitely read it soon! And yes, I have a short review on the post! I read it yesterday and it’s pretty quick and SO good!

These books are companions so they can be read in “any order.” However, as the series goes on, the books spoil the previous ones (characters get together, get married, find jobs, etc) so I would recommend starting with Catching Jordan and reading in pub order. Breathe Annie Breathe is definitely among the best, though!

I read this one already, but figured they did like Perkin’s do, but with contemps spoilers don’t bother me as much for some reason! I think I’m going to go with Breathe Annie Breathe next since I already have it, but after I will def start with Catching Jordan.

Yaaay for enjoying this one so much sweet girl 😀 Thank you for sharing about it. <3 Hugs. I haven't read any books by this author.. but I once won a personalized ARC from her, but that was some years ago, lol 🙂 I haven't read it, but I have it. But anyway. Not really for me, haha 😀 But it do look cute, even so. <3
