This meme is a way to discuss the books that have made their way to film, or to talk about the books we wish would be made into a movie. You are open to talk about any book out there in any way that you want. For example: Who would you have play the leads in the movie? Who would direct? Animated or live action? Etc.
This week my meme will focus on THE BROKEN STARS by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner. To be honest, the reason I decided to feature this book today was because an image for a movie poster just grabbed me in my mind and wouldn’t let go. Not to mention, I absolutely ADORED this book and its characters. And no, I didn’t want to feature the characters in my design. Think of it as a “teaser poster”…
Did you know that These Broken Stars has been picked up for television?
Let me know what you think of my poster and dream cast in the comments!

It's a night like any other on board the Icarus. Then, catastrophe strikes: the massive luxury spaceliner is yanked out of hyperspace and plummets into the nearest planet. Lilac LaRoux and Tarver Merendsen survive. And they seem to be alone.
Lilac is the daughter of the richest man in the universe. Tarver comes from nothing, a young war hero who learned long ago that girls like Lilac are more trouble than theyâre worth. But with only each other to rely on, Lilac and Tarver must work together, making a tortuous journey across the eerie, deserted terrain to seek help.
Then, against all odds, Lilac and Tarver find a strange blessing in the tragedy that has thrown them into each otherâs arms. Without the hope of a future together in their own world, they begin to wonderâwould they be better off staying here forever?
Everything changes when they uncover the truth behind the chilling whispers that haunt their every step. Lilac and Tarver may find a way off this planet. But they wonât be the same people who landed on it.
Lilac LaRoux – Karen Gillan
As the description implies, Lilac is the daughter of the richest man in the universe. She’s a fiery red-head with much more to her than meets the eye.
Karen Gillan will soon be heading to the big screen in the Marvel science fiction super hero film Guardians of the Galaxy. Coincidence? I think not. Did you know she even shaved her head for that role? So, while her luscious red locks may now need to be shown via wig for a while, she definitely has the looks and now the space film experience. Best known for her stint as Amy Pond (among other appearance) in the Doctor Who television series, Karen Gillan is sure to be a fan-favorite for the role of Lilac… should the offer arise.
Tarver Merendsen –
Michael Trevino
Tarver is a young military man with a heroic past. Gruff and unapproachable, he is disgusted by the ways of the super elite. Go figure he would be the last survivor of a shipwreck in space with someone of Lilac’s pedigree.
Michael Trevino is best known for his role on the popular television series, The Vampire Diaries, as Tyler Lockwood. He has the attitude and the sometimes-gruff demeanor, while also having the ability to be completely lovable. He also has television experience, so seeing as These Broken Stars actually *has* been picked up for television, this would be his next natural role to take.

This is GORGEOUS! Not sure about your fan cast for Tarver, but Karen definitely looks like how I imagined Lilac! <3

I haven’t read this book but that movie poster is awesome!! And I love Michael Trevino so id see it for him! I don’t think this is necessarily a book I would like tho.
I’m currently listening to this one in audio book and it’s going really well for me. I agree, it would make a gorgeous movie ð
I am curious to know how a book gets picked up as a movie. I like her choices for the main characters ð
