Thanks for joining the blog tour, Bookiemoji gang! So I’m pretty terrible at following Dos and Don’ts. Tell me to do something and I’m going to ask why. Tell me not to do something and I’ll probably shout, “You’re not the boss of me!” (Some closed-minded people describe this as “a problem with authority.”) That said, I spend most of my time traveling or in the writer cave, so I thought I’d share my tips for both. My writing Dos can be found over at YA Yeah Yeah.
Here are my best travel suggestions:
Do stock up on podcasts. I love listening to 99% Invisible and Welcome to Night Vale when I travel. Wait, Wait, Don’t Tell Me is my comfort food.Â
Do pack more lipsticks than you could possibly need. (Recent favorites are Colourpop and Melt, but I just got my hands on Unicorn Blood from Jeffree Star so all bets are off.
Do invest in a good neck pillow. I don’t remember who was the first to buy it, but by the end of the last Fierce Reads tour we all had the Cabeau “Evolution” neck pillow. I’m SERIOUS. It will change your life.
NOW, it’s time for some survival tips…
Six Dos and Don’ts of the Grishaverse
DO have a back plan.
If you go anywhere in the Grishaverse and have a plan 9 times out of 10 you are going to NEED a back up plan. Nothing seems to go as anyone hopes it will. It doesn’t matter how simple something may seem, just make a back up plan.Â
DON’T trust anyone. ANYONE.
DO ally with Kaz Brekker if given the chance.
If Kaz Brekker walks up to you and offers you a deal to come work with him…just take it. Seriously. Don’t think about it. Just take it. Being allied with him seriously is the way to go.Â
Which brings me to my next tip…
DON’T underestimate Kaz…like ever.Â
This guy is basically the ultimate bad ass and he knows his shit. Do not question his methods, just go with them. He is always about 1000 steps ahead and everyone who seems to come across him in the Grishaverse finds this out.Â
DO carry weapons on you at all times.Â
If you walk out the door without weapons you may not make it walking down the street depending on where you are going. At all times you should have a weapon, or two, hidden on you.Â
DON’T go anywhere to make a deal on someone without having blackmail on them.
Secrets are worth more than money in the Grishaverse. Nothing puts the fear in someone like you threatening to expose their nasty secret to the ones they don’t want knowing it the most. So if you know people’s secrets you can definitely have some leverage in the Grishaverse. Â

I would do my best. I have all sorts of plans for what I “would totally do if this was the reality” yet if this was reality I don’t think getting a bodyguard and training with him and then taking over the world would end up happening.
Yup, in this bookish universe you must watch your back! I would train myself and if I were a Grisha, I’d use my powers for good.
I’m super excited for Six of Crows. For how the Dos and Donts sound, I think I would make it (hopefully!). I just have to make sure that nobody tries to underestimate me…

Hahaha I couldn’t agree more, absolutely nothing goes smoothly the first time around in the Grishaverse. I probably wouldn’t make it for too long. As long as I got to meet Leigh’s boys though, I’d be good to go.
Good golly what a post! Loved all your tips, but the last one really stuck with me. Like, I know to be prepared and carry a weapon and all that jazz, but if I were a hardened criminal who did crime and was crime and all the crimed, I would be the one to have all the dirt. I would be in the know how. Call me Madam Blackmail muahahahahahahahahaahHAHAHAHAH *cough*

I’m so intrigued by the Grishaverse, but I would definitely not survive for long in that world. Lol
I’m so in love with all the twists in this book, which makes me definitely agree with teaming up with Kaz and staying on his good side. He’s always got it planned.
I definitely feel like I could but who knows! I would most likely trust all the wrong people and end up with a knife in my back or being locked in a cage haha!
Gosh I have a feeling I would probably be hiding, if I were in the Grisha world. Or who knows, maybe I’d be as kicbutt as Nina. I like Nina a lot. ð And Kaz! He always had like 485093485098340 backup plans!

I do like how a month ago, before even starting Grisha, Six of Crows was just a fleeting memory of “oh, another hype”. THEN I READ GRISHA (well, actually still reading R&R) AND NOW I NEED SoC. Series binge reading is a drug I tell you…

I cannot wait to read Six of Crows! I’m going to be honest, I don’t think I would survive Grishaverse. (I mean I would like to think I could survive with my cleverness but who knows) Very tragic indeed but I would try to enjoy it as much as possible!
